Marisota Pamper Day

Hello lovelies! Sorry I've been so quiet, life has been rather hectic lately and I've got lots of things to tell you about! On Thursday 25 April I was invited to attend Marisota's Pamper Day - the event was held to showcase their high summer collection and the Sea by Melissa Odabash swimwear range. It was held at cucumba ('The Urban Pit Stop') near Oxford Street - luckily I was with Michaela (of Cardiffornia Gurl) who works nearby, so I didn't have to do much navigating!

Image © Big Fat Betty (OOTD) | I wanted to wear something comfortable and not too formal, but still pretty/presentable, so I opted for my Simply Be Polkadot Skater Tunic Dress (no longer available, sorry!) and leggings (one of many pairs from Sainsburys, Asda, etc).

Image © Big Fat Betty (Michaela of Cardiffornia Gurl & Becca of Beka's Stuffy Stuff) | Upon arrival we were greeted by the team and offered nibbles and Starbucks (I felt a bit cheeky as we'd come from a cafĂ© down the road with takeaway coffee!) - it was an interesting, modern venue with lots of natural light. I spotted Becca (of Beka's Stuffy Stuff) perusing the collection and went over to say hello, and to have a first look through the clothing.

Images © Big Fat Betty (Marisota SS13 Collection) | The first thing I noticed was the colourful prints and light fabrics, perfect for Summer. I picked out a few of my favourite items to show you. I fell in love with the Roland Klein Spot Dress (£45.50, sizes 12-32). It's so floaty and feminine - a perfect office to evening dress!

There were a few great swimsuits in the collection, but the MAGISCULPT Convertible Swimdress (£48.00, sizes 12-32) really stood out - I just love the colour ('Jade'). It can be worn tied up as a swimsuit, down as a swimskirt or 'tied to the side for a sarong effect'.
In hindsight I should've taken more photos and product descriptions (lesson learnt for next time!), as I fell in love with this beautiful top but couldn't find it on the website. The print reminds me of a dreamcatcher. Luckily the Marisota team came to my rescue! It's the Print Kaftan Tunic with Jersey Cami (£35.00, sizes 14-32). I think you could also ditch the cami and use it as a cover up for the beach - two items in one! This is definately going on my wishlist.

Image © Marisota | Last but not least, this is the Sea by Melissa Odabash Tankini Set (£42.00, sizes 12-32) in 'Fuchsia' (also available in 'Navy') - we all know that pink is my favourite colour ;) this set looks both comfortable and flattering (the bottoms are high waisted control briefs).

Image © Big Fat Betty (Manicure) | I'd like to thank Marisota for inviting me, it was great to see the collection 'in the flesh' and there are some definates for my wish list! Also thank you very much for the complimentary manicure - the staff at cucumba ('The Urban Pit Stop') were lovely and prettied my nails up a treat!
