Review: Bras&Honey (ft. Elomi)

Images (Below) © Bras&Honey | Hi folks. The lovely team at Bras&Honey contacted me recently to ask if I would be interested in trying some of their products; their site offers a variety of well-known lingerie and swimwear brands such as Elomi, Freya and Panache. As I have an 'awkward' bra size (42B) I was initially concerned that there may not be anything suitable, particularly as I am aware that many of these brands cater for larger cup sizes. However, their search function came in really handy and I came across the Elomi Caitlyn Black Soft Cup Bra (£27.00) and Briefs (£18.00); Bras&Honey kindly gifted me both of these items to review.

This is the first time that I've tried an underwired bra, as they often look quite flimsy to me and lacking in support. I was pleased to find that the Elomi bra was incredibly supportive and well structured; I did experience a little 'rolling' with the thick elasticated area under the bust, but it wasn't uncomfortable. In fact, I usually experience a lot of 'hangover' under the arms with bras and they tend to dig in because of this; with the Elomi bra this didn't happen at all, the material under the arm and round to the back is much wider than most bras that I have worn and it didn't fold or dig in at all. The straps are equally thick and comfortable.

The briefs, however, are pretty standard in my book and don't really warrant the cost; having said that, if I was buying a set that wasn't plain black I would still buy the matching briefs.

I went for size '4L UK 22' in the briefs as I usually wear a 22 and the size was spot on; this is the biggest size available in the briefs but, as I mentioned above, I think any plain black briefs would be a good match. Also, to confirm, I also went for my usual bra size which is a 42B. The bra is available from a B-G cup and a 36-48 back, although the back sizes available for each cup size vary (a B cup is available in back sizes 40-48, for example).

Asides from the items themselves, I was really impressed with Bras&Honey's communication and the ease of use of their website, as well as the fantastically cute polkadot mail bag that my items arrived in! I would be more than happy to order from them in the future should there be more products available in my size (NB: this is more to do with the sizes offered by the brands).

  1. Great review. I live in underwired bras but hate when they turn evil and the wires come out eek. Xxx

    1. Thanks! I'm pretty sure that bra wires are the source of all evil...somewhat concerned that I almost wrote sauce then! x

  2. Great review. I used to make do with cheap bras up until last year, and now I know the joys of wider side straps and thicker underwires, I won't go back to the cheapo flimsy ones I used to wear. x

    1. Thanks! What brand(s) do you go for? I'm a bit stuck as I have a small cup; although Caroline did tell me a couple of sites where you can work out your bra size in different brands which I should investigate just in case x
